Avolites is a British manufacturer of professional lighting equipment for the live events industry: lighting control consoles, dimmer equipment, and media servers. It is known for its Pearl, Sapphire, and Diamond console series, as well as the Ai media server, widely used at concerts, festivals, and television shows.
The company was founded in 1976 in London (under a railway arch in the Hammersmith district) by veterans of touring technical crews; its name derives from the AVO-meter instrument (amps, volts, ohms). It gradually moved from servicing touring productions to manufacturing lighting control systems, relocating to its current Park Royal headquarters in 1985. In 2011 it acquired the media server software of Immersive (rebranded as "Ai"); Avolites technology was used for video mapping at the 2012 Olympic Games ceremonies. In June 2023 the company was fully acquired by the Czech lighting manufacturer Robe; in February 2026 Avolites celebrated its 50th anniversary.
