Crosby

Crosby (The Crosby Group) is an American manufacturer of rigging and lifting equipment: shackles, hooks, wire rope clips, blocks, and swivels. The "Crosby shackle" is an industry standard in stage and concert rigging for the rental and events industry.

The company was founded in 1888 by Oliver Crosby, who patented a forged wire rope clip. Throughout the 20th century, Crosby set industry standards: in 1958 it became the first to forge working load limit markings directly onto its products, and in 1977 it introduced a Product Identification Code (PIC) for traceability. In 2022, Crosby merged with Japan's Kito Corporation to form Kito Crosby, the world's largest manufacturer of lifting and rigging equipment. In February 2025, Kito Crosby was acquired by Columbus McKinnon.
