MA Lighting #1007

MA Lighting is a German manufacturer of professional computerized lighting consoles and networking equipment for controlling light shows. It is best known for its flagship grandMA console series, which has become the industry standard on concert tours, in theatres, on television, and at major events.

The company was founded in 1983 by Michael Adenau (hence "MA") in Waldbüttelbrunn, Bavaria. In 1992 it released the MA Scancommander, establishing its reputation as an innovator in moving-head fixture control, and in 1997 it introduced the first console in the grandMA series. In 2001, a separate company, MA Lighting International GmbH, was established in Paderborn to handle international distribution, sales, marketing, and technical support. Further key milestones include the grandMA2 (2008), the budget-oriented dot2 series (2015), and the completely redesigned grandMA3 platform (2018).
