MagicFX (MAGIC FX B.V.) is a Dutch manufacturer of stage special effects for the events and rental industry. It is known for its confetti cannons, CO2 jets, and smoke, spark, flame, and snow generators; its products are used at major events such as Tomorrowland, the Eurovision Song Contest, and Formula 1.
The company was founded in 1995 in the Netherlands as a fireworks pyrotechnics business. In 1999, following the fireworks depot explosion in Enschede, the firm began looking for a safer alternative and became the first in the country to stage confetti shows, importing confetti cannons from the US. With the rise of the electronic dance music industry, MagicFX brought a new generation of special effects to market and became a leading global SFX brand. In 2008 the company was taken over by Bram Veroude, who had previously joined as an intern; all products are still designed and hand-assembled in the Netherlands.
