Motion Laboratories (Motion Labs) is an American manufacturer of portable power distribution systems and electric chain hoist control systems for the live events, touring, theater, and studio industries. Their modular chain hoist control systems and motor power distribution units (motor distros) are among the most widely used in the entertainment industry.

The company was founded (incorporated) in 1985 in New York State. Its first commercial success came in 1986 with the release of fixed-speed electric chain hoist control systems, and the following year the company entered the portable power distribution market. Over more than 30 years, Motion Laboratories has grown into a full-service design-and-build manufacturer with its own engineering department, CNC fabrication shop, and more than 20,000 square feet of assembly space. Its 16-channel motor distro is considered the industry standard for motor power distribution in touring rigging.
