Panasonic is a Japanese multinational electronics manufacturer; in the rental/events industry it is known for professional AV equipment: high-brightness projectors, broadcast and studio cameras, displays, sound reinforcement systems, and installation solutions.

The company was founded on March 7, 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita in Osaka as Matsushita Electric Housewares Manufacturing Works, initially producing lamp sockets and electrical outlets. It was incorporated in 1935 and rapidly expanded its range of electrical products. In 2008 the company changed its name from Matsushita Electric Industrial to Panasonic Corporation. Since 2022 the group has been reorganized into a holding structure, Panasonic Holdings Corporation.
