Penn Elcom is a British manufacturer of flight-case hardware and 19-inch rack solutions for the rental, professional audio, and AV industries. It is known as one of the world's largest suppliers of handles, latches, corners, and other components for shipping cases and speaker cabinets.
The company was founded in 1974 by Roger Willems in the village of Penn (Buckinghamshire, England) under the name Penn Fabrications, initially working in metalworking and subcontracting. In the early 1980s, after establishing a partnership with Bulldog Cases, it moved into producing flight-case hardware (handles, corners, latches) and entered the US market. A merger with its American competitor Elcom (California) in the early 2000s created the Penn Elcom brand, which became the world's largest manufacturer of case hardware; around the same time, 19-inch rack production began in Hastings. Today the group operates factories and warehouses in the UK, USA, Germany, Australia, and China, producing more than 6,000 product lines.
