Powerlock #1082

Powerlock is a British brand of single-pole power connectors for temporary high-current, low-voltage connections (400–800 A, up to 1000 V). Widely used in the rental and events industry (concerts, festivals, sporting events) for generator hookups and power distribution; regarded as a safer alternative to camlock connectors.

The Powerlock brand was developed in 1994 by the Veam UK (Litton Veam) division team in Scotland; the name was chosen by employee vote ("power" for the power connector, "lock" for its secondary locking system). In 1995, AC Lighting (later AC Entertainment Technologies) became the exclusive distributor for the entertainment industry, winning an award at the PLASA trade show. After Litton was acquired by Northrop Grumman, the Veam division passed to ITT Industries in 2003; the Scottish factory was closed and production moved to the ITT Cannon facility in Basingstoke. Today Powerlock is a brand of ITT Cannon (part of ITT Inc.).
