Radial Engineering is a Canadian manufacturer of professional audio equipment for stage and studio: legendary direct boxes (DI), splitters, reamps, switching interfaces, guitar pedals (Tonebone), and 500 Series modules. All products are manufactured in Canada.
The company was founded by Peter Janis: in the fall of 1991 he relaunched the business as the Canadian distributor of Mogami cable and Jensen transformers, and in 1996 released his first product under the Radial Engineering brand — the passive JDI direct box. In subsequent years Radial became the world standard among DI boxes (JDI, J48), launched the acoustic-treatment sister brand Primacoustic (2000), and acquired the Tonebone brand, the Reamp technology, and Jensen Transformers. In 2018, following founder Peter Janis's retirement, Radial was acquired by Regimen Equity Partners (together with Mike Bielitz), who took over leadership of the company.
