Resolume is a Dutch developer of professional VJ software and media servers for live visual shows. Its flagship applications Avenue and Arena are used for real-time video playback, mixing, and mapping at concerts, festivals, and events.
Resolume originated in 1998, when Edwin de Koning and Bart van der Ploeg started writing their own VJ application after failing to find existing software for improvising video to music. The domain name resolume.com was registered on May 16, 2000 as part of their graduation project. Since 2002 the founders have worked on Resolume full-time. Today the product lineup includes Avenue and Arena, as well as the Wire and Alley tools and the DXV codec, and it stands as one of the industry standards for VJs worldwide.
