AV Stumpfl is an Austrian manufacturer of professional projection screens (mobile and fixed-installation) and PIXERA media server software for the rental, events, and installation industries. It is known for its fast-assembly screen systems (Monoblox, Vario) and projection surfaces for the AV market.
The company was founded in 1975 by Reinhold and Uli Stumpfl: it all began with Reinhold's hobby electronics work and an 'image blending device' for slide dissolve, commissioned by the Austrian Alpine Club. Due to customer demand for screens, the Stumpfls began building their own projection systems — the predecessors of today's Vario system. In 1981, production moved to Bad Schallerbach (Upper Austria), and after 2000 the company built its own headquarters in Wallern and introduced the revolutionary Monoblox system. In 2015, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary, Tobias Stumpfl took over as CEO, and the PIXERA media server platform was later launched.
