Blackmagic Design #1035

Blackmagic Design is an Australian manufacturer of professional hardware and software for video production, broadcast, and post-production. It is known for its digital cinema cameras (URSA, Pocket Cinema), the ATEM series of live production switchers, and the DaVinci Resolve editing and color-grading application.

The company was founded in Melbourne on September 7, 2001 by Grant Petty, together with co-founder Doug Clark. Its first product, launched in 2002, was the DeckLink capture card, which made professional uncompressed video work affordable. The company subsequently grew through acquisitions: da Vinci Systems (2009, color correction), the ATEM switcher line from Echolab (2010), eyeon Software (Fusion) and Cintel (2014), and the audio company Fairlight (2016). Today Blackmagic Design manufactures cinema cameras and broadcast equipment, and continues to develop its flagship DaVinci Resolve software.
